Surround Her with Love...

January 13, 2014
In our family we play this game...if you could have a superhero power what would it be?

Mine, to be able to be in more than one place at a time.

On Monday, when we were discussing all of our options for Lucy's end of life care, I leaned over to Drew and whispered into his ear that I want to change my superhero power.  I want to be able to go back in time.

Lucy has a real life superhero power, she really does!

Do you want to know what it is?

She has the power to make you fall in love with her!

Our hope and prayer for Lucy in these final days, weeks…is that we'll surround her with love, wrap her in it, bathe her in it, saturate her with it!

So...I have an idea.  Not unlike any other admission in which our girl celebrated so many holidays in the hospital, we need to decorate her room.  It's time to take down the Christmas decorations, and bring on the LOVE!  For the love of Lucy send hearts, send cards, send love notes to Lucy, affirmations of love…help us surround her with love.

**It has been mentioned by many, what can they do for our other three loves?  Why, the same thing, share the love!  Let them know that they too are so very very loved and thought about!

The hospital address is:
Nemours A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children
℅ Lucy Marlett Room 3708
1600 Rockland Road
Wilmington, DE 19803

Your family has touched many students at the high school where I work. I am collecting hearts left and right. We are not far away and would like to hand deliver them ourselves if possible. We know your family wants to spend every moment with lucy-so we will be more than happy to bring the hearts to the nurses at dupont. Just know that your family is in all of our prayers.

A friend of mine just sent me your link to your blog today, I really wish I would've seen it a lot sooner. My thoughts and Love are with you and your family. Your blog hits closer to home then it possibly could. My daughter Sierra born Oct.23/08 died March 21/09 of Leighs disease, which is also a type of Mitochondrial Disease. From what I have read so far of your daughter Lucy in her first stages, is exactly what we went through with Sierra, in her short few months of life. From moment I started readying your info and blog, I wish I could just come visit to get the chance to meet Lucy. Please feel free to message me on facebook or email me back, if you want of course. As my friend stated to me, she thought I'd want to reach out, and just that I would like to. My heart goes out to everyone in family, I know what your feeling and it's in now way easy.

The Lord brought you to mind today, after I missed a couple of months following Miss Lucy. I'm so sorry that you guys are facing this very hard road, but so grateful that she has such a loving Mommy & Daddy, and brothers and sisters to surround her with love. Be comforted that Lucy's Heavenly Father has prepared a huge party for her, and will welcome her into His strong arms where she will be completely healed soon. You guys have done a great job with Lucy. So faithful. So courageous. God bless you all.

Lucy and your whole family is in our thoughts and prayers. We can't begin to imagine the strength it takes to go through losing someone who has touched so many lives in such a short amount of time.

Remember that He has special plans and knows what He is doing even when nothing makes sense.

God bless you all.

The Imagination Players send their love to Lucy and the entire Marlett family. A banner for Lucy's room is on it's way to the hospital. In the meantime, we joined hands and sang this song today, just for her. We did it with no rehearsal, so it's a little rough, but the sentiment is the same: Surrounding Her With Love.
