Dear Marlette family,
I was one of Megan's preschool teachers at PSW when Lucy was born. Even before Lucy was born, I remember a wonderful family. Jack came in often as a Mystery Reader! Megan was such a nice and caring young lady and loved by all her peers and teachers. I remember when Lucy was born because her name was on of my favorite girl names! Lucy was lucky to be born into such a wonderful family! My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during this difficult time! I am most certain that Lucy had an amazing short life surrounded by a wonderful family! May Lucy rest in peace.

I am so very sorry. Your beautiful family will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Jesus is holding her now and she is perfect, whole and in the most amazing, beautiful place. Someday you will all be together again, but until then I pray for God's peace and comfort that passes all understanding. She will not be forgotten and I know your families journey has changed and encouraged so many lives. May God bring you comfort in all of your memories with Lucy and hold you all close during this time and in the days ahead as you learn to live life without her. Our love to you all.

Been praying for you all, and especially this morning I church. We were singing "Oeans" by hillsong united, and God is amazing.Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

My heart aches for you! I've read your updates for quite awhile and cannot imagine the pain you must feel of losing Lucy. Such a tremendous journey, a roller coaster on your emotions and I cannot imagine how hard it was to Lucy. Yet she's no longer in pain which is so good to know but must not make it any easier. My prayers to you and your family! You provided the normalcy to Lucy and her siblings which couldn't have been easy. You are a wonderful mom!

I wish we lived closer so our family could cover you with love.

I've never commented on your blog before, but I have been a faithful reader for quite some time. I sit here in tears, for the first time in my life crying over the loss of someone I've never met. I stumbled across your blog over three years ago, when I was a first year medical student, and I want to tell you that Lucy's story has changed the course of my life. I read her blog with heartache as she faced insurmountable challenges, yet still continued to fight. It was after reading Lucy's story that I said to myself, "I want to be the kind of doctor that takes care of patients like Lucy." I didn't know what that was when I first made that declaration, but have since been determined to pursue a career in pediatric neurology, with an emphasis in mitochondrial disorders and I will begin my child neurology residency in June. Lucy has been an inspiration to me over the years, and your family has shown me a perspective of terminal illness that I cannot get in the classroom. I love Lucy, and am so saddened with her loss, yet so encouraged by her fight. And even more encouraged by your fight and dedication to your beautiful family. My heart is breaking for you.

I am at a loss for words. Despite knowing your beautiful Lucy's eternal life was imminent didn't make it any less shocking. I am completely heart broken... but I am holding space for all the Marletts, as I know no other way to send my support. Your family's unfailing love in the face of all of the challenges life has given you the Lucy's extraordinary odds crushing life has been inspiring... thank-you for sharing your life, your deepest personal moments. I don't know often Lucy will cross my mind but I will never forget February 8th, the day she was finally healed... and my birthday, you all will hold a special place in my heart. Nicole I can think of no more of a perfect place for Lucy to be as she took her final breath but wrapped in your arms. Many many prayers.

I am so sorry to hear this. We were at Dupont on Saturday to pick up a few of Kierra's things. On our way out, i saw Drew and the kids coming in and i saw an urgency in them that struck that cord of "Oh No!" in my heart. I have been praying for you! Your sweet Lucy made a huge difference in this world! And although it probably hurts so much that even the thought of her happy and free may not be truly comforting...just know without a doubt that she is truly OK. So much more then OK. She is well cared for beyond your imaginations. And so supremely happy. Hugs and love to you and your family! You .Will. get. through. this. God be close and give you strength and peace in the days ahead!
